POST-DOC RESEARCHER

We are a leading research organization in the area wood and wood-related renewable resources in Europe. Our core competences are materials research and process technology along the complete value chain – from raw material to finished products. We develop methods and basics and perform applied research on the economy-science interface, in order to enable resource-efficient management in the circular bioeconomy.


Our team, Sustainable Innovation and Impact Assessment is looking for a:

 

Post-doc Researcher (20h-40h)

 

About us:

We conduct research at the interface of technology and economy in order to provide customized information to shape innovation processes and support our company partners on environmental, social and economic issues. In several technological research projects—for instance from hybrid wood construction to biodegradeble plastics to bio-based supercapacitors and smart textiles—we are responsible for Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment. Some projects comprise LCA or sLCA only and some the combination of LCA, sLCA and LCC. We conduct your sustainability assessments along with the R&D process and aim to contribute to generate sustainability knowledge and methods. Our scientific achievements are published regularly.

 

 

Your responsibility:

  • Managing projects related to sustainability assessment
  • Development of adequate research designs for sustainability assessment in different contexts
  • Guiding conduction of sustainability assessment studies incl. data collection & analysis as well as interpretation and scientific publication or reporting
  • Support management activities at Wood K plus
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences/project meetings
  • Participation in (international) meetings with project partners
  • Supporting project proposals and acquisition of third party funded projects
  • (Co-)Supervision of master theses and doctoral theses

 


Requirements:

  • Completed doctoral studies in a field of study related to sustainability assessment
  • Expertise in at least one of the following: Life Cycle Assessment, social Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing.
  • English language proficiency
  • Independent, structured, responsible and accurate way of working
  • Organisational talent
  • Communication skills

 

 

Other desired qualifications:

  • Interest in studying a portfolio of methods and comparing effects on analysis
  • Interest in actively participating in stakeholder dialogues
  • Experience in project management and/or acquisition
  • Project management skills and team player
  • German language proficiency
  • Full commitment to research and willingness to learn about new technological fields
