We are a leading research organisation in the area wood and wood-related renewable resources in Europe. Our core competences are materials research and process technology along the complete value chain – from raw material to finished products. We develop methods and basics and perform applied research on the economy-science interface, in order to enable resource-efficient management in the circular bioeconomy.

For support in the numerous research projects we are looking for a:

Project Manager in Pulp and Fiber Biorefinery team on a 30h/week (f/m/d)

Your responsibility:

Lead in projects, mainly in collaboration with our company partner Lenzing AG. The topics include pulp and fiber production, biorefinery products and separation processes in the field of wood based cellulosic fibers. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks, ranging from coordination of project tasks, planning and evaluation of experiments, organisation of meetings and communication of the results to the industry partner.

Your qualifications:

• Degree: PhD in chemistry, technical chemistry, process engineering, material science, biotechnology and related fields
• High level of commitment and initiative
• Independent, structured, responsible and accurate way of working
• Organisational talent
• Interest in sustainable pulp and fiber production, biobased products and processes
• Knowledge and competence with carbohydrate chemistry, pulp and paper technology, biorefinery
• Ability to work in a team and communication skills
• Independence
