BIOCYCLE-UA-II - Circular economy using the example of selected biopolymers (production-processing-recycling)

The project describes a closed cycle for fully biodegradable plastic products with a focus on polyhydroxyalkanoates. The project addresses the production from primary raw materials as well as recyclate. The effects of mechanical and chemical recycling on process control and product quality are being investigated.

The project cooperation is a building block for the development of R&D capacity in the field of the circular economy in Upper Austria with an exemplary effect for possible future cooperations by bundling competencies.

Project goals & contents:

Competence and expertise in material research, material production, material processing including process control in the field of fully biodegradable plastics as an attractive partner for Upper Austrian industry.
