We are a leading research institute for wood and renewable raw materials in Europe. Our core competencies lie in materials research and process technology along the entire value chain – from raw materials to the finished product. More than 120 highly qualified researchers are developed methods and basics and perform applied research on the economy-science interface, in order to enable resource-efficient management in the circular bioeconomy.
For support in the numerous research projects we are looking immediately for a:
Research assistant (f/m/d) – 20 hr/week
Your responsibility:
- Translating scientific questions into practice
- Active participation in experiments, test series, and analytical investigations
- Preparing and conducting laboratory tests in the field of paper properties and sustainable packaging
- Conducting and monitoring measurements in industrial production environments
- Structured evaluation, documentation, and analysis of test data
- Preparation of measurement reports and project-related written evaluations
- Participation in the optimisation of test setups and measurement methods
- Close cooperation within the project team and independent assumption of defined work packages
Your qualifications:
- Technical education (HTL, FH, TU, etc.), preferably in the field of paper technology, chemistry, polymer science, process engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Experience in analytical work
- Experience/interest in paper and packaging manufacturing processes
- Reliable working style, independent and flexible development of solutions
- Good communication skills
- High level of motivation and personal responsibility
- Experience in project management is an advantage
