Intelligent, integrated and impregnated cellulose-based sensors for reliable bio-based structures
Project goals & contents:
Innovation in Sensor Technology for Sustainable Materials:
The i³Sense project is revolutionising the functionality and reliability of load-bearing components made from wood and natural fibers. With innovative, invisibly integrated sensors, we explore critical parameters such as humidity, mechanical stress, and temperature to enhance the lifespan and performance of bio-based materials in the construction, automotive, and sports industries. Our vision is to create a new generation of sustainable, intelligent materials that achieve unprecedented reliability through early detection of potential hazards.
